In 2006 I attended a 5 day workshop at the Atlantc Center for the Arts in New Smyrna Beach, FL. The title of the workshop was THE SPIRITUAL LANGUAGE OF ART, Shape and Form as Subject, and the instructor was Steven Aimone. It was a pivotal moment in my career, inspiring and clarifying the non-objective direction I had been tenatively approaching. I’ve had the privilege to work with Steve on numerous occassions since, each time coming away with renewed enthusiasm, and appreciation for his ability not to teach, but to help an artist follow their own vision.
